Luka was pissed off and hungry. That was not a good combination. He sat in the slytherin table. He took out his wand and said "Accio crisps." and a bag of Lays came to him. The most wonderful food in the world, also known as 'potato chips' in America, made by a wizard of course. Luka would never eat, nor associate, with anything that has to do with the muggle world.
He started eating them while looking at the empty, desolate great hall. Just the way he liked it. He didn't like to be around people, claustrophibic in his own way. He hoped no one would come in there, looking to cram in a few extra hours of studying before class started. The morning before dawn is the best time of every day. Luka made sure never to be asleep during that time.

How could she possibly sleep? Isabella checked on her every fifteen minutes at night, as if she would even attempt to escape the castle. So instead of putting up with that yet again, she slipped out of the common room between Izzy's visits and made her way down to the great hall.
The great hall was dimly lit, for through the windows no light penetrated. It was still early morning and the sun hadn't risen. Inri preferred darkness. But she had the worst vision and didn't notice she wasn't alone until she was already seated with a book open. She heard crunching, and turned to her right to look down the nearly vacant Slytherin table. Luka sat eating a bag of crips.
Not the sort of thing she was expecting at that hour. But she closed her book and scooted down the table so she was situated a foot away from Luka. She didn't say anything at first, but let out a large sigh to make her presence known.
((OOC: BTW, someone needs to resize their siggy =P))

(lol happy?)
Luka heard a large sigh escape Inri's lips. He gave a half smirk to let her know he knew she was there. He did not turn to her however. He just kept staring at the wall, watching portraits move, and some ghosts fleet in and out of the great hall.
Of course she would be tortured by the silence, which was how he liked it with everybody. This was Inri though, and so he had a soft spot for her. Just because she was the only person in the whole Wizarding world he could tolerate. More or less.
He then decided to speak. "What are you doing?", he questioned her. Very direct, no waste of breath. He did not show emotion at all. Then again he did not have to. He felt nothing.

Luka knew as soon as Inri opened up her book that she was just acting cool and collected. He could read her like a book, pardon the pun. She was not reading, nor was she good at come backs for that matter. He would think it was pathetic except that her presentation of herself reminded him of a long ago memory that was resurfacing.
It was a girl. He couldn't remember her name, just her face. She had long black hair and incredibly startling icy blue eyes. He doesn't remember how he knew her. She wasn't a stranger either; he knew that. They were skating together on a frozen pond in what looked like the middle of nowhere. The ground was covered in snow and a few stubbles of grass stuck out here and there. There were no roads or houses anywhere around them. The girl looked to be 3 years younger than him. He around 6; she around 4. She spoke to him with a voice that sounded like a sweet, lullaby. "Come on, Lulu! Let's start a snowman." Luka, the little boy, was like another being entirely. He smiled, laughed and agreed to help the other child with her requested task. Afraid and mad, Luka stomped that unknown memory out of his mind.
He came back to the present just in time to hear her reply. "What does it look like I'm doing?" He shrugged as his response. It was pretty obvious to both of them what it looked like, but it wasn't like Luka to answer a question that would not give him something advantageous in return. He took anther crisp from the bag and munched on its salty goodness. He then shifted the bag slightly toward Inri as an offering. He looked at her while he chewed, swallowed, then said, "You do know it is incredibly early in the morning, correct?"

Inri watched him cautiously as he scooted the bag of crisps so the opening was pointed at her. She looked between the bag and Luka's face with an expression to question his seriousness. She went back to looking at the crisps as a vegetarian would look at a steak.
Inri used a single finger to point the chips back in Luka's direction, though her stomach grumbled loudly as she did so. She tried to cover it up with a loud, forced sigh.
"You do know it is incredibly early in the morning, correct?" She looked back up at him, shrugging off her nerves when he spoke. "And you do know that I sleep two hours a day, if at all, yes?" Inri abandoned her book as she noticed Luka had seen through her intentions, shutting it softly and scooting it down the table a bit.

Luka took back the offering of chips with another one of his shrugs. "Whatever. It was her loss" He continued to eat another of his chips and waited to swallow before answering her better thought out second comeback.
"Ah, you see. I didn't and it is incredibly faulty of me not to have noticed that your cranky attitude is due to this. How impudent of me." Luka's sarcasm came out fluently. It always came out whenever he was around someone he felt comfortable with. He then took out his wand and in his mind, he clearly uttered the words "Accio Carrots." He felt an apple was too overdone and that a vegetable that was good without it being cooked was the right way to go. Once the carrots appeared in his hands (they were sanitary, wrapped in a plastic bag), he saw they were baby carrots. Luka offered them to Inri with a raised eyebrow as if to say, "Is this better?".

"She refused again?"Luka thought. It was weird. She didn't want chips, and she didn't want carrots. Luka was seeing a whole new side of Inri that morning. He never expected a girl that, from afar, would look so normal to have so many wars in her head. He took another chip from the bag; it was almost empty.
"So let me get this straight, you are an insomniac and you don't spend that time you lie awake eating? I ca't imagine how awful that must be. What do you do with that time?" Luka raised his eyebrows. He was honestly curious. He sleeps like a rock each night and had never had problems sleeping. He is also not very creative, so he couldn't think of what to do with his time if he weren't able to sleep.

"So let me get this straight, you are an insomniac and you don't spend that time you lie awake eating? I can't imagine how awful that must be. What do you do with that time?" Inri looked down at her lap, a small hint of pink in her papery cheeks. "Well, I think," she mumbled softly.
She always thought. But on those nights lying awake in her bed, that's really all she did. Think. Think about the future, think about the past. Think about her dead family and her mother rotting in prison. Think about everyone she had made enemies with at school and everyone that hated her guts. Think about what everything would be like if her parents had stopped at her brother.

[purple]"Well, I think."[/purple] Luka blinked once. Twice. Finally, he burst out laughing. It sounded hoarse yet not at all forced. But, it may have sounded strange coming out of his mouth for he had not laughed in years. "I can't remember the last time I laughed this hard. Hell, I can't remember the last time I laughed.' Luka thought. He was baffled by her response. She stayed awake in the middle of the night thinking? That was unheard of to him. "You stay up at night thinking?" He removed an escaped tear from his eye. "That would be the last thing I would do. I would avoid doing that at all costs. I would rather not think about my circumstances in life. If I did, I would probably want to kill myself. Before, he revealed too much of his true self, he pushed back. "Of course, I can't let that happen. I'm much too beautiful to die this soon." He said in all seriousness. He tipped his bag og crisps so that the remaining crumbs would fall into his mouth. Once he did so, he looked inside the bag for any hidden food that might be left over. He was still hungry. He took out his wand and summoned another bag. It arrived shortly.
"So what do you like to think about?" He was curious. He kept on eating while talking.
