Alaya walked nervously into the great hall for the winter dance. She wore a long dark blue dress and her shoulder length dark brown almost black hair was tided up in a black ribbon. She looked at her wrist that had the strange claw. She took a deep breath and walked into the great hall. Most of the hall looked white and silver. It was very pretty. Outside the almost full moon shown making the snow on the ground sparkle. She walked further in and listened to the music with a smile.

Lucy sat at a table watching the dancers. She stood to join them as her favorite song played. Her light blue dress swayed at her ankles as she danced. The song was soon over and she left the dance floor. She walked back to her seat and sipped some pumpkin juice.

Rinoa drifted through a wall attracted to the music she heard. She didn't know why it was there, but she didn't care. Music was always welcome in her sightless world. Her head turned, and all who would not have known her would have thought she was looking around, but she listened to the world. She could hear people moving and dancing, and a few talking, but none were voices she knew. She considered leaving then. She had never cared to dance before and the last dance she had been to was the valentine's day dance that had ended in a battle. Personally she was eager to let Magnus prove himself as a leader, something he desperately needed if her was going to gather followers, but perhaps it was too soon. But blind and dancing didn't mix well, or at least not without Yuda who hadn't died along with her. Why bother staying? Maybe if they didn't play a song she knew or liked next she would go.

Diem sat up tentatively when she heard the sound of music coming from inside the castle. She floated gracefully (she had gotten used to it by now) down from the towers and through the floors. Slowly Diem poked her head into the Great Hall to see it completely decked with holiday decorations. A small, tired smile spread across her face. Though it was soon wiped away when she remembered the last dance she attended.
The ghost floated further into the busy room and looked around. She had no idea there was going to be a dance tonight. Thinking back on it, Diem didn't know anything happening in the school. Since her death, she had stayed cooped up in the towers the entire time. Diem felt awkward in her dirty clothing while everyone else was wearing fancy gowns and had their hair beautifully done up. She sighed and tried to blend in with her surroundings.

Helena walked into the great hall. She felt really nervous. As she walked in she was amazed by all the decorations. She wore one of the dresses that her mother had packed for her before she came to Hogwarts. Helena's heart twisted, she still couldn't find out where her parents were hiding. But she wouldn't let that get in the way of tonight. Helena put on a brave face and smiled a little. Helena's dress was really long and black. She loved it. alldresses.com/mas_assets/product/d4009.jpg

Anria finished getting ready in her dorm. All her roomates were already down there socializing and having a good time. "Talk about being fashionably late" Anria muttered under her breah while she looked at herself in the mirror once again. The truth was that she was dressed already but she wasn't ready to face a large crowd of people looking at her come in. Girls talking bad/good about her and boys eyeing her like she was an alien from another planet. That was what usually happened in her old school. A freak who actually thought she had the right to show up and have fun with the rest of them. Anria was wearing a knee-lenght, polka-dot patter black dress with a red sash above the waist accompanied by black fishnet gloves. Her hair was in in a messy bun atop her head with her bangs down. Her icy blue eyes standing out from her pale skin and dark hair. She took a deep breath and said "Here we go", stepping away from the mirror. She was hoping some of her friends were gonna be there so she wouldnt be alone. She knew Xian would come too, but he would deffinetely be so fashionably late he would miss the dance. She went down the moving stairs and stepped inside the great hall. She looked around and spotted Alaya and Helena. She decided to go and say hi. Before she took a step she found Diem's ghost. She hadn't seen her in person but she had heard rumors from other gryffindors. It was true. She drifted off coarse and went to Diem. She was going to tap Diem on the shoulder but knew that was not possible instead she called out her name. Dress: ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ESyiiO0jL._AA280_.jpg

Amelia walked into the Great Hall and looked around. She was bored, the only fun part was dressing up. She hated the dress she was wearing, it was pink! She looked around for some familiar faces, she saw Alaya, Helena and Anria. There was no sign of Xian anywhere. She wondered if Xian asked Anria to the dance or not. She knew that they would both come together but she knew he would never ask her, he would just assume they were going together. He is such a dimwit! she thought to herself. Lia walked over to where Anria was talking to a ghost. The ghost seemed strangely familiar. Lia realise it was actually one of the student, the one that had died. "Hey Anria! Do you like the dress?" She smirked a little at that. She looked at the ghost. "Hi, I'm Lia." she said. www.prom-dresses.co.uk/wp-content/pimages/2008/03/rose-chiffon-ruffle-prom-dress.JPG

Diem's head perked up when she faintly heard what could have been her name. It was hard to tell over all the music, and screaming, and giggling. Without really thinking about it, she turned in a circle, scanning the room for anyone who might have called to her. Her silvery eyes locked in on the girl she remembered from the apple incident. Diem sighed and reluctantly gave a small smile. "Hi, Anria," she greeted halfheartedly.
Diem turned to the second girl who joined her, slightly surprised at all the (unwanted) attention she was getting. Diem flashed a quick smile and said in a soft voice, "Hi, Lia".

Anria gave a tiny smile to Lia. Always so friendly. Although it seemed Diem was either too anti-social, shy or just didn't think she belonged. If it was the first two Anria was with her at this point in those emotions. If it was the third, well then that feeling was all wrong.
She sighed and tried to get it over with. Anria was going to be nice to Diem Day. Miss Apples of all people. "Look Diem.... I know we weren't the best friends when you were..... you know.... solid. But I want you to know that you have every right to be here. Probably even more right than me and Lia. You were a student far longer than us." After that she tried to lighten the mood by saying, "Besides, You'll never end up like Moaning Myrtle. You've got more class, and attitude than her." Anria said this with a smile. "Apple?" she offered Lia the one she took from one of the tables. Lia was probably trying to keep up. The poor thing wasn't here for many of the things that have happened this year.

Diem felt slighty out of place as she tugged down on her sweater as a way to give her fidgety hands something to do. She wished to be back up in her tower so that she could wallow in her sorrow, but really she wished she were alive still. She wished she could be in Dante's safe arms...
She tried to smile genuinely. If Anria was going to make an effort to make up, then perhaps Diem should too. It wasn't exactly that Diem didn't feel she had a right to be there, it was more like she was uncomfortable with so many people not having seen her since the battle. The first people to see her were Inri and Alaya. As she looked around quickly, Diem spotted Alaya in a pretty blue dress, but did not see Inri.
"Thanks. Haha, I really hope I don't." Diem had to smile at the Moaning Myrtle comment, it was all too true (or at least she hoped).
Diem turned to the other girl who completed their little conversation circle. Diem didn't think she recognized her. "So, are you a first year?"
