Lia was trying to keep up with all of the thing both Anria and the Slytherin girl-who she now knew waas called Diem- were saying. She realised that a lot of stuff must have happened before she joined the school. 'Oh well.' she thought to herself. 'It didn't matter.' She just smiled at both of them. She happily accepted the apple Anria offered and took a bite out of it. She then heard Diem asking her a question. "Yes, I am new. I'm Xian's cousin. Who are you?" she asked politely.

Diem was slowly starting to feel a little better about herself as she realized that nobody was staring, and that she blended in quite well. She let her silvery hands drop to her sides and stood up a little straighter.
"Oh," she commented, not really knowing who Xian was. She figured he was a first year too. "I'm Diem. I was a second year before..."

"Before what?" Lia asked too quickly. Her curiosity getting the better of her. There was something that happened that she didn't know about and she was itching to figure it out.

Diem couldn't believe that Lia didn't know what she meant. Knowing how students can be, she'd thought that the story was spread like a wild fire throughout the school. Surely everyone knew about the last battle?
"Oh, um," she started awkwardly. Diem's hands immediately flew to meet one another as she played nervously with them. It was still somewhat hard for her to talk about that night, to remember all the memories she tried to forget. The scene played in her mind, at least what she remembered of it. She could almost feel that searing pain again...and then there was darkness.
"I thought you knew," she smiled apologetically. "Well, uh, I was murdered during the last battle."

Lia knew she was asking a personal question and that Diem didn't really want to answer it. "I'm so sorry." she said, looking down and playing with the material of her dress. "I didn't mean to ask you a personal question, sometimes I'm just like that."

Diem hated to see that she was making Lia uncomfortable. "No, it's fine, really. There's not much we can do about it now, anyway," she smiled kindly, referring to her murder. Diem hoped that maybe it would lighten up the mood a little.
The ghost looked at Anria apologetically. Anria had been so quiet, and they had been excluding her out of the conversation.

"Oh...yeah." replied Lia. She saw the ghost look towards Anria. Oh no Anria! she though to herself. She must've been feeling so lonely.

Alaya noticed a group near Diem. She smiled and walked over. She nodded to Diem. "Hi there Diem" She smiled at Anria, "Hey Anria, Amelia" She said Amelia with little enthusiasm. She heard the conversation and knew Amelia had no idea what happened. Some in the school were clueless about the changeling and what angered her even more was that she was defenseless against her.

Once the talk about the last battle started Anria went to a far off place. Well, not exactly. Just another time. She remembered that night as if she were there again. She saw everyones vigorous fighting, she felt what she once felt and still haunts her. The pain that creeps into your spine when you think You've lost someone dear to you. The pain that appears in the blink of an eye and you can do nothing to stop it. She thanked whatever god there was for not taking him away.
Her memories were so vivid that she was only faintly paying atention. She figured they must still be talking about the fight. When Alaya joined them, and Anria was able to snap back to the present, she figured that Diem was still uncomfortable with talking about how she became a ghost. Anria couldn't blame her. Amelia was still as curious and clueless as ever. " Let's hope she doesn't find out. I don't want her to go on a rampage."
With a blank look on her face that soon turned into a smile, Anria said "Hey Alaya, I like the dress." Then looked back at the other hoping that Amelia didn't make Diem uncomfortable or vice versa.

Alaya smiled. "Thanks, you look great as well" She said. Alaya wanted to setter the conversation from the battle. The very mention of it made her blood run cold. This was the dance and everyone was to have fun.
