[white]Anria took her owl out of its cage and it perched on her arm carefree. "I'm sorry Mist, but I didn't take you out to play today. It's time for work." Her owl responded with a quick, sharp chirp and a nod of its head. Anria gave him a cheeky grin that she only saved for the best moments with the best people. When she grinned like that, her eyes closed and her cheeks became plump. The owl moved its way from Anria's arm to her shoulder. Once it was securely perched there, Anria sprinted out of her dorm only to come back seconds later to get a piece of parchment rolled up with a string. With that in her hand, she went back out.
It was that time of the month again. It was time to send word to her mother that everything was fine and dandy at Hogwarts and that the horror that happened years ago would not return. Of course, this was all a lie. But, her parents didn't need to know that. Anria had written her mother a long letter of assurances. That she was eating right; that she was doing well in her classes; no she didn't have a boyfriend. The usual teenage stuff. This was not at all what ran through her mind every minute of every day, but it was what her mother wanted to hear. She did, of course, ask for more muggle books to be sent her way as soon as possible. She was running out of good material to read.
Anria ended up in the towers. The owlery to be exact. She took Mist off of her shoulder and the bird's feet sat on two of Anria's left fingers. It purred loudly when Anria carressed its gray fur and closed its eyes contentedly. "Ok, buddy. I need you to do me a favor. Take this to mama and then come back with her reply. I promise I'll have a big feast waiting for ya when you get back, all right?" The bird looked at her for a few seconds then let out another one of those sounds that only owls can make.
Anria attached the parchment to the bird's clawed feet and gave him a treat. Then the bird flew away effortlessly. Anria watched content to see her beloved companion flying free, but at the same time she felt saddened to let it go. She looked forward to his return.[/white]

Nephelle made her way from the Ravenclaw common room with a tightly packed parchment scroll tied with a friend's silver ribbon. She was merely doing a friend a favor in sending the letter while her friend wrote her last-minute Defense Against the Dark Arts essay, while Nephelle had nothing to do herself. She didn't need entertainment anyway, she could never become bored, and even if the feeling was starting to rear its ugly head, she could quickly and simply find something to do, from going down to her usual haunt in the kitchens to just staring at a stone wall in the dormitory, picking out patterns in the rock.
The owlery wasn't an area she usually went to. She didn't have an owl, and never sent any post to anyone for that matter. Everyone she knew she could just talk to at Hogwarts. Nephelle would have lost her way on the walk to the owlery with how rarely she went up there, if it hadn't been for her six years of experience at Hogwarts. She had been everywhere inside the castle at least once, even places students never knew existed.
The owlery though was a quiet and quaint area. Usually, she liked places like that, but any of the towers were off limits in her mind. There was too much of a chance that another student would be there, and when Nephelle went out of her way to be alone, she wasn't keen on choosing a place that had a higher chance of another student being there. So usually, the owlery was at the bottom of her list. Of course, she found she was correct when she reached the final step going up to the tower and spotted a dark-haired girl with her back to her. Nephelle ignored her for the time being and looked around for the great horned owl with a limp talon and gave the scroll to the owl who grasped it in his right talon. She whispered the details to the owl to where it was to be sent and the owl flew past the other girl, barely missing her head, and out the window.
Nephelle then reverted to leaning against the opposite wall, watching the other girl for a few moments. As her attention was focused on her, she heard a faint "plop" above her head, first oblivious to it, but then realization struck through her like a lightning bolt at the Eiffel Tower. "Of course." She shot a murderous glance at a particular dwarf owl that just perched on the other side of the room. "This is why I am a rat person."

[white]Anria was startled from her reverie by another owl almost yanking her ear off of her head. "Eep" she exclaimed feeling her soul nearly leave her body. She glanced behind her, breathing heavily and clutching her chest. She was met with a girl who looked a couple of years older than her. Her most startling feature was her shocking mound of fiery red hair. "Gosh, I wish I was that brave. I could never dye my hair a color like that. It attracts too much attention."Anria thought. After the scare wore off, she approached the other girl cautiously. She seemed to have a grimace on her face.
"Uh, Hi there. I'm Anria. I don't mean to be impudent but... are you ok? You seem... troubled." Anria tried to be as respectful and polite as possible under the circumstances. She could have just left the girl alone. However, she felt that it would not be right to leave someone when they seemed like they could use a hug.[/white]

Nephelle continued watching the girl, almost ignoring the clumsy bird that almost severed her ear, but noticing the look she gave her. She was very much used to the stares of her classmates. No matter how long Nephelle had been at this school, she still seemed to be like the shiny new toy to everyone. So, she made all of her clothes, wore stockings all the time, and dyed her hair. It didn't seem at all unusual. She would barely give any notice to another student who dressed and looked like that. But, that was her.
She gave the girl a suspicious look as she walked over to her. "Uh, Hi there. I'm Anria. I don't mean to be impudent but... are you ok? You seem... troubled." Nephelle smirked glumly. "Troubled? Uh, no, I'm not troubled at all," she muttered, her words just lightly glazed with sarcasm. She pulled a handkerchief out of her bra shamelessly and carefully, with an annoyed look on her face, mopped up a spot in her hair. She folded the handkerchief up delicately with the stain on the inside and stuffed it in a little messenger bag she had hanging off her shoulder. She looked back at Anria as if she was going to introduce herself as well but just looked at her expectantly.

"Bloody bitch," Luka muttered to himself out loud as he climbed the steps to the owlery. It was a Saturday and Luka was stuck in detention because he had spoken out in class. He was being punished for doing something that he was completely in the right to do. It wasn't his fault that hufflepuffs were so incompetent. He couldn't believe a teacher could be so thick headed. Him? In detention? He would have skipped out if it wasn't for the fact that the teacher's rat was following him around in the shadows. He had to go around doing chores for the old hog all day. His current assignment was to send a letter for a person who was of now importance to him. The teacher had started talking about who it was for and what they were to him. Luka had tuned the babbling out.
Right now he was taking two steps at a time. He hoped that if he finished all of the chores early, he might be able to be dismissed early as well. False hope, but hope nonetheless. Once he reached the entrance to it, he heard voices from inside. He stopped. Both were female. He recognized neither. He stepped inside and saw a ravenclaw with a shocking mass of red hair and a gryffindor who looked to be much younger than him. "At least they aren't hufflepuffs."he thought. However, he was still annoyed with them. He was in a bad mood, and they were blocking his way to the only other available owl. He went up to them, sneered, and said, "Move out of the way, filth." He waited impatiently.

"Move out of the way, filth." That was the first she heard of the additional soul in the room. Before turning to look at the newcomer, she analyzed the voice carefully. She first noticed it was of course a male's voice. Every muscle in Nephelle's body tensed suddenly. A male. A cruel, cold, arse of a guy, who would stab her in the back and give her bruises and scars.
He heard a particular edge in his voice, not even the deceiving kind tone she was used to. It was cold and hard. With a shudder, she turned slowly to look at him. A dark-haired, pale boy wrapped in Slytherin robes. Only more reason to suspect him.
But as much as Nephelle hated everything this guy was already, she wouldn't let him push her around like she had done with other guys.
"Did you just call me filth?" Anria became invisible to her in her fury. This newcomer was all she could focus on. "No one calls me filth. Filth is what we call the scum that you are. You have absolutely no fucking right, you egotistical asshole." She flicked her wand out, pointing it right at his throat with not as much as a quiver in her arm.

[white]Before Anria was able to respond to the sarcastic comment the other girl made, a boy who seemed to be much older than her snarked at them. She had noticed that the ravenclaw girl had yet to mention her name. She couldn't believe how rude the boy was being. She, however, did not explode. Anria felt that even if he was a slytherin, he deserved the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he's having a bad day, Anria thought.
She couldn't believe that the ravenclaw girl took out her wand without a care in the world. Anria began to panic. Oh, shit. I don't want to get in trouble. I'm too young to die. Why did I have to send a letter to my mom today of all days? She whined desperately. Anria raised her hands defensively/ in surrender. She wasn't sure which. She then said, [red]"Come on guys."[red] She adressed the ravenclaw, [red]"Listen uhh... Damn, I still don't know your name. We were blocking the way. How about we just let him pass and whatever problems you have with him you can resolve later"[/red] She then adressed the slytherin. [red]"Look, I'm sorry we were blocking your way and everything, but I don't feel like I deserve disrespect. I have done nothing against you in any way."[/red] Anria was a firm pacifist.
She took a better look at the slytherin after he little speech. He was kind of good looking. In a way. She much preferred blondes. His lip ring flattered his face in a way that many people didn't have a talent for. However, she would never be attracted to him as more of a friend because he reminded her physically of her older brother Tumnus.[/white]
