I'm not gonna wait around, Let you run my whole life down, So you can watch me fade away ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'til all my sleeves are stained red FROM ALL THE TRUTH THAT I'VE SAID ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now I've faded into someone else, Yeah I'm faded, My true color's gone, Like a picture nobody sees
This would be considered a normal setting for the young werewolf. Night, alone in the corner of the bar at the leaky cauldrin not really wanting to go back to her room nor going anywhere else for that matter. There was an untouched cup of hot tea in front of her and a distant look on her face. Her hair was darker that usual but she seemed to notice that as she grew older her hair grew darker. Her bright green eyes gleamed in the flame of the candle sitting on the table. There was room at the table for a couple more people but Alaya wasn't expecting anyone, not at that time. Well all things considered she never fully told anyone where she lived. Her cousin and mother were the only two that knew she lived at the leaky cauldrin but only her cousin knew exactly which room. Alaya took a deep breath taking in all the scents of the room.
She had grown accustomed to the heightened senses, well more heightened now. What Alaya was still working on was her interaction with others. She had been distant from even her closest friends but she felt that it was for their own good. She had too many fears at that moment and did not want to get the few people she cared about trapped in the middle of such a problematic situation of loss identity. She knew who she was but what she was remained a mystery. There were other things that others needed to be worried about. Like the dark lord on the rise once again and school. Yeah school did not seem as important at that time with everything else going on but Alaya had gone from being a top student to rarely showing up to classes. She really needed to get things together if she wanted to move on to the seventh year.
There was also the thing with her being head girl. It was a huge honor but if she continued skipping class not only would she be kicked off the quidditch team, which she was co-captain for but also would be striped of her position. It had only been a couple months since school started so she would need to really buckle down and focus this year. Becuase for whatever reasons she felt like things were only going to get worse and if they were not prepared and at their best game then there was little chance of survival in the near future. She smoothed out the red shirt she was wearing and lay her head on the table, closing her eyes to get some form of rest.
She did not take notice of the two people walking in. If she had she might of left already without letting them see her. She wasn't overly sure about seeing her friends at that moment. However, seeing as she was half asleep and not paying attention to her surroundings she did not notice much of anything.
I'll bet you don't, don't even know my favorite song you tell me how, how I should wear my hair ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Come by it honestly I swear THOUGHT YOU SAW ME WINK, NO ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You wanna change everything I ever was, try to erase me till I'm not there now I'm faded outfit: c l i c k y notes: SWEETNESS !!! starting up again, this should be very interesting word count: 500 template made by alaya @ CAUTION 2.0

It was the beginning of Dante’s second year back at school since taking his detour as a Death Eater and then later as a runaway; and truthfully, it was getting dull. Every aspect of school was monotonous, tedious, scheduled. Everything was so planned and predictable; it felt too safe to the boy who was accustomed to an endless adrenaline rush. This never seemed to bother any of the other students, though. Didn’t they know that they were all in constant danger? Didn’t they realize that there could be an attack on the school at any moment?
At times Dante found himself scared by the depth of his paranoia. It wasn’t like he was wearing a sandwich board sign that read ‘The End Is Nigh’, but Dante knew exactly what sort of things Voldemort and his followers were capable of. They were unremittingly dangerous and mercilessly sadistic. This was exactly the reason that he kept Emilia Silverstien in his sight as much as the curfew would allow. Perhaps it was slightly overprotective, he thought at times. Then he remembered what happened to Diem; he turned his back on her for one minute and she was murdered. There was no way in hell that Dante would let that happen twice. He could not be responsible for the death of another friend.
The stress of the paranoia and anxiety mixed with anticipation had really started to get to Dante as of late. He needed a break from it all, and he hoped that his date with Emilia to the Leaky Cauldron would be just the trick to loosen him up. His mood was generally better when he was with Emilia, anyway. Just having her by his side was such a huge comfort.
With an arm wrapped around her shoulders, Dante led Emilia through the almost deserted street that was home to the old tavern. Letting Emilia go just long enough to hold the entrance door open for her, Dante promptly retook his grasp on her by holding her hand and squeezing it lightly. He had his eyes on the corner of the bar farthest from the door so as to keep out of the center of attention. "How does over there look?" he asked, nodding to the relatively empty corner.

If one would look up the definition of model student in the dictionary, Emilia Silverstien's name would be listed before the actual definition of the word. School has been in session for only a short period of time, but Emilia Silverstien was already pursuing Top Student status as we speak. Every day she had her nose stuck in either a book or a piece of paper quickly scribbling some sort of notes that would soon form the beginning of an essay. To say she was a dedicated student would be an understatement. This was just part of who Emilia was and always will be. She came to school for a reason, and that reason was to learn as much as she could about witchcraft and wizardry.
Yet, there was an alternative reason for her dedication to school, and that was to distract herself from all of the fear she felt from the danger that was lurking within the school walls. Emilia wasn't stupid, far from it actually, she knew an attack could happen at any moment and her life could potentially be lost. She used her school work as a means to lessen the panic she felt beating in her chest. School also proved a way to distract herself from everything having to do with Voldemort and his return to her beloved school. Emilia was beginning to fall into an old habit which was running from her problems instead of dealing with her problems head on. The major problem was that no one was forcing her to face these problems, and unless someone forced her to do so she was going to live in her delusional, school-filled world.
There was one small reminder of the danger that was lurking around her, and that was a certain boy named Dante Black. It became very apparent to Emilia that he was starting to take on the role of protector instead of destroyer. Not a day went by where he wasn't by her side making sure nothing happened to her. It was sweet, but Emilia couldn't help but to think, due to her independent nature, that she could take care of herself. Yet, she knew that Dante was doing this in order to alleviate the stress and the panic that he was feeling than her own. Looking into his eyes every day, she could see the panic and the fear lingering there, and she felt helpless that she could do nothing to rid him of those thoughts. Deep down, she knew that she was the cause of this pain, and sometimes she thought if maybe she would just end it with him that it would cure his pain. This thought always made her heart break, and she never went through with that plan. Maybe she was being selfish, but she needed Dante to be by her side regardless of the panic and the pain she saw in his eyes.
When Dante asked her to go with him to Leaky Cauldron for a date, she couldn't resist. It would be a nice break from the castle and the mountain of homework she was facing. Throwing on her cloak she walked out of the portrait hole with a genuine smile on her face as she approached the boy who held her heart in his hands for so many years. She allowed him to put his arm around her should as he led her through the castle down to the Leaky Cauldron. She couldn't deny the comfort she felt with Dante by her side or the way her heart fluttered when he had his arm around her. It was these small moments that made it all worth it to Emilia that she was still with Dante and grateful she didn't have the courage to end it all with him to ease his pain.
As he held the door open for Emilia scanned the room to see if she saw any friendly faces. Her eyes landed on her friend, Alaya sitting her head on the table. Emilia tried to rack her brain to determine the last time she saw her. She couldn't. She knew Alaya had been absent most of the year, and she had no idea why. Dante's squeeze of her hand brought her back to the present. Looking at Dante she whispered, "Dante, it's Alaya over there with her head on the table. I hate to interrupt her, but I can't remember the last time I saw her which worries me. Maybe we should go talk to her to make sure she is ok?"

School had yet to start and Alaya was not sure what she was going to do when she went back. The summer had been hectic at best. She did manager to see her cousin Ethan, a very rare occurrence considering the risk that he would be taking. There was the possibility that he might end up working at the school this coming year but that wasn't set in stone. As much as she would love for that to happen it might not. There weren't too many people she trusted or even cared to be around at that moment. Yes she did consider some friends like family but lately it seemed like the only one she was close to was her cousin. She had yet to tell him her problems but he knew something was up and made it clear that he would listen when she was ready to speak.
Alaya lifted her head and rubbed her temples. It was a long day and she figured she should head up to her room. She was going to but then she noticed Emilia and Dante at the corner of her eye. She decided to not move and make it seem like she didn't notice them. Maybe, she hoped, they didn't notice her in the back. It wasn't like she didn't want to see them but she wasn't sure if she really was in the mood for talking. She also didn't want too many people to know that she lived there at The Leaky Cauldron. Only her cousin knew which room she lived in and her mother knew relatively where she lived, them and the residents of the cauldron. Well only the ones who lived there full time as she did. The school contacted her through Star, her owl, who traveled back and forth from the school.
There was no real reason behind her not wanting people to know where she lived, but she did like her space. She was on good terms with the owner and she did work at the bar from time to time when needed. It was quiet and she did hear some very interesting things about the current events happening around the wizarding world. Alaya too a sip of her now cooled tea. It was still warm enough to be satisfying but she would have liked it a bit warmer. She would warm it if she was seventeen but that wouldn't happen for a couple of months.
Alaya really wanted to sleep. It was odd for her to be so tiered but lately she had been exhausted. She just didn't want to fall asleep on the back table again. The owner tried to wake her and she was never a good sport when woken up. The owner would joke about how he was worried she would take off his head. Alaya apologized profusely about it and it just became a joke with some of the workers. The permanent occupants of the inn were the only people who she talked with at the cauldrin.

Taking a closer look at the figure in the back corner, Dante realized that Emilia was right; it was Alaya. At Emilia’s request to visit with her friend, Dante tried to hide a disappointed frown. He had originally hoped to have a legitimate date-night with her; Dante had it all planned out in his head. He would escort her to a quiet seat, and then pull out her chair for her. She would order whatever she wanted and he would pay for it all with the money he had been saving up for that night. They would spend their time talking and laughing. For just a couple hours, Dante and Emilia would forget about Voldemort and school and their past. So seldom could they just live in the present moment, they were always so preoccupied with regretting the past and worrying about what was to come.
But now Dante was stuck. He didn’t want to ruin the night he had planned, but how could he tell Emilia she had to ignore her friend? He understood that Alaya was one of Emilia’s best friends, but he was frustrated that Emilia was choosing now to want to take care of her. Dante looked down at Emilia with pleading eyes before gently touching his forehead to hers. “Babe, I’m sure she’s fine,” Dante whispered back to her with caution for fear of feeling of her wrath. He peeked to the side and realized that some people at the tables closest to the front entrance were beginning to glance at them. They had been standing there for longer than any normal costumers would. Nervous about attracting more attention and possibly having Emilia upset with him, Dante reluctantly resigned.
He sighed quietly and said, “Only for a little bit, ok? Tonight should be for us.” Dante hated to be the bad guy but it was for a good cause. With everything on their shoulders, Dante knew that both he and Emilia could do with a night off. The last thing he wanted was for Emilia to get too wrapped up with Alaya so that she only had more things to burden herself with. However horrible he felt about it, Dante said a silent prayer that Alaya wouldn't have much to say.
He gestured for Emilia to lead the way; it was her best friend they were going to see after all.
