What more could she do now that she was back at Hogwarts? There were an abnormal amount of students who would strangle Inri if they were to be alone with her. But the library never seemed to be a largely populated place, so she was found here more often than not.
Every now and then, she would being slightly paranoid and would stick her head back up from the depths of her book to stare around the room. She spotted what she was looking for, or rather whom. The familiar auror she had seen at death eater meetins and past battles at Hogwarts was leaning against a bookshelf, never taking her eyes off Inri.
This was the price she had to pay. To continue her education, they set up the "brilliant" plan to have an auror watching Inri at all times. She was too young for Azkaban and in her fourth year, so this was pretty much the only solution other than assuming another agitating persona. But it did really bother her to be awoken every fifteen minutes during the night when she came up to check on her, or when she left the restroom and the auror was standing right there in front of her. Isabella never spoke to her, but only stared as if there was nothing else in the world to do that would entertain her more.
She self-consciously turned her head back to her textbook. The hebrian black, a rather aggressive species of dragon that, as it's name suggests, is all black with bright violet eyes... Inri's cheeks went pink, thinking of her animagus form. She was still uncomfortable on the subject and she had never let anyone see it yet. And she planned to never do such a thing in the future.
She slammed the textbook shut and got up to put it away. She looked directly to Izzy who's entire posture shifted when she saw Inri stand up. She rolled her eyes, knowing Izzy wouldn't say anything anyway.
She walked in between the shelves and after returning the book to its rightful spot on the bookcase, she sat down and rested her back against the bookcase. Izzy wasn't often too conspicuous, so she didn't follow Inri back there. Anything for a moment of privacy. A deep sigh erupted from her lips.

A fifth year Hufflepuff walked into the library with an oddly shaped school bag on his back. Richard nodded politely at the auror that was leaning against a bookshelf. He had no idea why the auror was there of course but something in his gut told him that he would like the answer if he did ask the auror why she was there. Richard wore what he usually wore when he was on school grounds. His prefect and Captain’s badge on the right hand side of his jacket which had the Hufflepuff crest on it.
He dropped his bag by a chair and desk before he headed down the exact same row as Inri did before he arrived. As he slowly walked down the row he looked at the names of the books attempting to find one that would inspire him to think of more Quidditch strategies. Then out of the corner of his eye he saw Inri as he walked slowly down the aisle. His heart raced when he saw her and it threatened to jump out of his chest. He ran his left hand through his blond messy hair before walking back down the aisle and flattening up against the bookshelf. He pulled his redwood wand out of his belt loop, pointed it at the auror and muttered a fairly simple yet usefull spell. “Mufliato.” If the spell was successful the auror would only be able to hear a faint buzzing in her ears but nothing else. Some people would say that he had just abused the spell but he called it privacy. “Must be annoying to be followed by her all the time.” He reached out and pulled out a book that he knew was about Quidditch and hoped that it had some new tactics in it that he hadn’t come up with yet. Beating the Bludgers - A Study of Defensive Strategies in Quidditch By Kennilworthy Whisp.

“Must be annoying to be followed by her all the time.” Of everything that could possibly happen, a death eater attack, a pixie flying into the room and knocking each book of its shelf, she was not expecting to hear a voice. Inri jumped at the sound of it, but regained herself and turned around toward the voice.
The face was definitely familiar. She had seen him a few times before, she remembered. Though, as guilty as she felt, nothing clicked within her mind. She looked down at the two badges on his robes and as if a lamp was just flicked on, it came back to her.
She remembered back to what he had said a moment before. "You have no idea," she laughed, then turning to look in the direction of Isabella. She was still standing there, but didn't seem to have any clue of what was going on. She shot up back onto her feet then.
"It's somewhat my fault, of course. I asked for it." Inri kept her hands busy by combing her fingers through her hair. Her long, dark hair she had missed so much. And she knew she no longer had those hideous gray eyes anymore. Hers would be their completely natural and bold color. She was still in her Hogwarts robes, similar pins like Richard's on it, though in addition to the two others, she had her head girl one. It brought too much attention to her, being head girl. Everyone already knew she was a know-it-all, she didn't need to broadcast it automatically when she walked into a room.
Richard was the Hufflepuff team captain and seeker. It then came to Inri that their first quidditch game was soon. She somewhat dreaded this, having the Ravenclaw team there. They probably remembered her well, and now that they knew she was Faye they were quite annoyed with her. She also remembered that she had accepted her younger sister on the team as a chaser. All of this together was a recipe for disaster. She tried to take her mind off of quidditch, but it was hard once she saw the book he was holding.
"Ready for the season to start?" she asked, trying to come up with conversation material. The first two game would probably be a week into the school year. The Slytherin team hadn't gotten to do much in the way of practicing, but she was confident with this year's players. It also made her feel better with knowing the old Ravenclaw players so well. She knew their normal strategies and weaknesses.

Richard’s heart continued to pound a mile a minute as he stood there talking to Inri. He had come to realising over the summer in between his part-time job and building the model of the Quidditch pitch that was at this very moment sitting in his bag as he searched for more strategies. “Yeah, I guess you kind of do killing a fellow student and all. But still you do deserve some sort of privacy once in a while. You should get some peace for awhile though, if I did my spell correctly all she should hear is a buzzing in her ears.”
He put his wand back into his belt loop and began looking for another book on Quidditch tactics. Their first match was going to be hard, he knew that much. Considering that Gryffindor had been unable to release the Quidditch cup. But they still had a bit of time left to practise in and nail the combinations. He was quite confident in the team that he had chosen though, especially in his co-captain’s reflexes. The only thing that he wasn’t to confident in though was his ability to fly his new firebolt. It was so much faster than his old Comet two sixty but that meant he had to spend a lot of time flying it just to get used to the speed and being able to steer it.
"Ready for the season to start?" Richard gave a small smile, but it wasn’t very confident. “I honestly don’t think we’re going to be ready in time, not to face Gryffindor that is. Hopefully that will change though once they nail the offensive tactics Dylan and I’ve come up with. Not much could prepare ypu to beat Gryffindor though.” What he said was entirely true not only was there nothing much that could prepare you to beat Gryffindor with the amount of free time he had and he was fairly confident that they would stand a chance if they got the tactics that he and his co-captain had came up with. “So…. How do you think your team will do against Ravenclaw?”

“Yeah, I guess you kind of do killing a fellow student and all. But still you do deserve some sort of privacy once in a while. You should get some peace for awhile though, if I did my spell correctly all she should hear is a buzzing in her ears.” He said it so casually, and still he was here holding a conversation with her. Murdering Diem got almost everyone in the school to hate Inri. "Hmmm... I appreciate that," she told him with a smile, and went on to browse the shelves along with him, walking down the one they were in and weaving through others to the back of the library.
“I honestly don’t think we’re going to be ready in time, not to face Gryffindor that is. Hopefully that will change though once they nail the offensive tactics Dylan and I’ve come up with. Not much could prepare you to beat Gryffindor though." Yeah, Gryffindor was insane. Every year, they somehow got the quidditch cup, which really agitated Inri. "Wait, Dylan's on the team?" Inri never really saw Dylan much, except for summer and winter break when his family came over. Rarely, since Uncle Rabastan was considered a blood traitor, but his brother was still accepting of him. He was the Lestrange she hated most, besides Bellatrix's one Gryffindor daughter. She didn't mind the Slytherins though.
“So…. How do you think your team will do against Ravenclaw?” "I think we stand a good chance. They're rather predictable, I must say, and my little sister is quite the chaser." Even though Inri hated her guts. She was very confident with herself as seeker and Alice as chaser, but was a little worried about Dante being on the team, simply because she didn't want him to strangle her the next time she called a practice.
At that point, she couldn't even see Izzy anymore, browsing through the last shelves against the far wall of the library. Madame Pince's desk wasn't even in view at this point. "So nice to have a break from her for a while," she sighed, referring to Isabella. "She really gets on my nerves sometimes." She leaned against the wall and then looked back up at Richard, making eye contact for once. "How are you?" Rather than just making small talk, it was more of a serious question. Not looking for an "fine, you?" but more of a genuine answer no one would give her. How they're coping with school, what's going on in their family. No one seemed to give anything but "alright."

"Hmmm... I appreciate that," He smiled and continued browsing the shelves. As he passed several students tried to trip him up but were unsuccessful. It seemed that the acted this way because he was being nice to a convicted murderer. He couldn’t help being nice to her because he had a crush on her. Then someone tried to punch him, he swiftly ducked under the punch and grabbed the extended arm taking notice of the student’s house. Ravenclaw. “Just because you hate Inri, doesn’t mean that I have to hate her too.” He stood up then and twisted the Ravenclaw’s arm behind their back. He pressed his head close to the Ravenclaw’s ear and added so that only they can hear what he said next. “I stick up for because I believe that there’s good inside of her , she just needs help finding it.” It was only the partial truth and he knew it. He then shoved the Ravenclaw towards the door. “Get back to your dormitory! And be aware that I will be telling your head of house about your attack.”
"Wait, Dylan's on the team?" His attention was drawn back to her when she asked if Dylan was on the team. “Yeah, he is actually. He’s my co-captain. Makes practices hard to organise though as we’re both in our O.W.L year and have been piled in homework.” The homework had not improved that much from the year before but they were expected to practise the spells after class aswell as do any essays that they were assigned. He did think thought that the next two years of his wizarding schooling would have even more homework than this years’. He didn’t know what sort of jobs the wizarding world had to offer other than being an auror, healer, or teacher; none of which he wanted to do.
"I think we stand a good chance. They're rather predictable, I must say, and my little sister is quite the chaser." Richard wasn’t too shocked about the fact that her sister was on the team considering as they would have amazing chemistry do to the fact that they grew up together. “I wish we were facing Ravenclaw first though instead of Gryffindor. But then again Ravenclaw’s probably saying the that they want to face us instead of you.” He slid another book off the shelf, He flew like a madman (a biography of ‘Dangerous’ Dai Llewellyn). He knew the book was a biography but he hoped that it had something on Quidditch tactics, that would help him to beat Gryffindor.
"So nice to have a break from her for a while, She really gets on my nerves sometimes.” He guessed that she was referring to the Auror and not her sister, Alice. His heart pounded even faster when she leaned against the wall and looked into his eyes. “I know the feeling. My Father would follow me around everywhere whenever he was around, constantly looking for any mistakes I would make. Just so he would have a reason to punish me.” His eyes flickered to his shoulder when he said punishment then returned to Inri’s eyes as fast as they had left them. "How are you?" He could tell by the tone of her voice that she wasn’t looking for a one word answer. He stood there his chivalrous blue eyes looking into her beautiful eyes. He honestly had no idea what to say other than tell her that he suspected his abusive Father was cheating on his Mother. “Well I guess things are starting to go bad in my family. I think my Dad has lost intrest in my Mom and has begun to cheat on her as he’s rarely ever at home. Not only that but he’s been abusing me for ten years, maybe more. Look you can still see the bruises from the last time he hit me.” He pulled his left arm out of his jacket and pulled the left side of his V-neck down to reveal several bruises, clearly made by fists, on his shoulder, The bruises were almost healed as they were the odd shade of greenish yellow. After a minuet or two he carefully guided his sweater and jacket over his injured shoulder. “It’s great to be back at Hogwarts though, even if I’m often stuck in the common room do to all the homework I’m given. How were your summer holidays?”

“Just because you hate Inri, doesn’t mean that I have to hate her too.” She didn't notice the attempts of violence other students were pulling on Richard until he spoke. Inri whipped her head around and locked on to what was happening. A Ravenclaw apparently tried to punch him and he was now initiating means of defense. A wave of guilt ran through her. If it wasn't for her, Richard wouldn't have to deal with all the crap everyone gave him. But there was also confusion for why he continued to be kind to her if all this happened as a result. Her face screwed into a pensive expression. Richard very well made a good prefect. Inri of course had been selected before she did the things she had, and now they can't take the position back. Inri did have the personality for it, though. She had a low tolerance level and never took crap from anyone. She wasn't afraid to get on someone's bad side. But Richard still was the person the staff saw before when he was selected. He was very much the same way Inri was as a prefect, though he actually deserved the position.
“Yeah, he is actually. He’s my co-captain. Makes practices hard to organise though as we’re both in our O.W.L year and have been piled in homework.” Hmm. That would call for some serious family rivalry. While she didn't really care who won as far as her and Richard having to compete against each other, with Dylan on the Hufflepuff team she might have to give it her all. Not that she didn't normally, but Inri could be a little aggressive when she wanted to be. Though the problem with that was her size. It was often discouraged of her to get into physical fights because of the shear size of her peers. Inri was unusually small and thin and had almost been crushed to death under Dante's weight.“I wish we were facing Ravenclaw first though instead of Gryffindor. But then again Ravenclaw’s probably saying that they want to face us instead of you.” Inri giggled quietly. It was an unusually kind thing for him to say. Slytherin did have a reputation to be pretty good in Quidditch, coming in second almost every year, but they were also most feared by how violent they usually were. The girls never partook in such violence, but the guys on the team had caused the most quidditch injuries of any team.
“I know the feeling. My Father would follow me around everywhere whenever he was around, constantly looking for any mistakes I would make. Just so he would have a reason to punish me.” Inri fell silent again listening to Richard. It wasn't that she didn't have anything to say, but it was the fear that she'd say the wrong thing about such touchy matters. But his family sounded a lot like a branch of the Black family to her. Pretty much all the pureblood families who actually valued their blood were very harsh on their offspring. She barely knew her own parents, her mother put in Azkaban when she was only a baby and her father dying when she was quite young, but living at the Malfoy Mansion was very similar. Inri was always surrounded by a variety of people, most being death eaters. She was taught by death eaters, and, eventually once she proved her worth, the dark lord, and when she did something wrong or just downright agitated them, she would receive the cruciatus curse.
“Well I guess things are starting to go bad in my family. I think my Dad has lost interest in my Mom and has begun to cheat on her as he’s rarely ever at home. Not only that but he’s been abusing me for ten years, maybe more. Look you can still see the bruises from the last time he hit me.” It must be a whole other situation to be constantly hit by your father. Inri would normally put up with the curse from her aunt, but she didn't have a very close relationship, either socially or by blood. Inri couldn't even open her mouth to speak even if she could form the words she wanted to say. And then he showed her the bruises. Her hand flew to cover her mouth in shock. The guilt she had felt only multiplied. “It’s great to be back at Hogwarts though, even if I’m often stuck in the common room do to all the homework I’m given. How were your summer holidays?” Inri really didn't want to spill her summer to Richard after that. She really didn't want to be a burden to him more than she already was just being herself. But she crossed to choose a spot along the shelves closer to him.
"Well..." she started, scouring her mind for the right words to say. "My summer started with being tried for murder, but was too young to be sent to Azkaban so I got stuck with her watching me all the time. Ashley lectured me with her 'they don't hate you, they just hate your behavior' spiel, while Dylan was being an arse through it all. The Dark Lord wants me to kill my old boyfriend, which I failed to do last year so I got another ten minutes of torture under his own wand for being disloyal." By this point, Inri was close to loosing it. She was sharing a little too much but it was all whispered and she trusted Richard with all of it. But through all of it, she was never allowed to cry and all her frustration was just spilling over the edge. "And... another thirty minutes under the cruciatus curse by Aunt Bella for my utter stupidity..." She let it go and felt a tear slip down her cheek. Without thinking, Inri clung to Richard, though made sure to avoid his bruised shoulder. She didn't care about anything now, whether anyone at all was watching or if Richard found this unnecessary. She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face into his good shoulder.

The Hufflepuff wasn’t too surprised at the amount of shock on Inri’s face when he showed her the bruises on his shoulder. In fact he had guessed that, that would be exactly what she did. She was also the first person that he had told about his father abusing him. It seemed that the older he got, the more his Father abused him. It was for that reason he couldn’t stand being around his Father, he also couldn’t stand being around his Mother too much do to the fact that he believes that it’s as much of her fault as his Father’s because she was letting it happen.
"Well... My summer started with being tried for murder, but was too young to be sent to Azkaban so I got stuck with her watching me all the time. The Dark Lord wants me to kill my old boyfriend, which I failed to do last year so I got another ten minutes of torture under his own wand for being disloyal. And... another thirty minutes under the cruciatus curse by Aunt Bella for my utter stupidity..." Tears then flowed down her cheeks from her eyes and then without warning she hugged him, her arms around his neck and her head buried in his right shoulder. Self-consciously he fought with his heart, bidding it to slow down as she cried into his shoulder. He had never seen his Father comfort his Mother, but he had seen movies with similar situations. First he completed her embrace, careful not to squish her, then he rubbed her back as he tried to come up with something soothing to say to her. After about five minuets he came up with something to soothe her. “It’s all right.” He continued to rub her back for another minute before he gently lifted her chin and kissed her on the lips. Several people glared at him when he kissed her, but he didn’t care, he didn’t even care that she had been crying moments before either. He knew that this love was forbidden, especially if her aunt was Bellatrix Lestrange who he knew had killed her own nephew in the Ministry of Magic, due to the fact that he had been in the school when word got out. Then their lips parted his face a mild red color. He couldn’t believe that he had just kissed her and inside he was beating himself up. Sure he loved her but he had never planned on kissing her until they were dating, that is if she had said yes to going out.

Inri felt a sudden warmth course through her when Richard hugged her back. Just to know that he didn't seem to mind. It was strange, though, since Inri rarely, wait no, never received comfort from anyone when she was down. She was always made to get back up and deal with it herself, which was part of the reason she was so mature and independent for her age. But this bliss she felt now was something that, though foreign, she found that she liked. It only continued when he began to rub her back soothingly.
“It’s all right.” That was all she needed for her sobbing to start to cease. It slowed until all that was left of it was the sniveling. She savored the moment, knowing she might never get such support again. Just a hug was enough for her, especially since that wasn't something that would happen often for her. But most of all, she wasn't expecting what came next. She wasn't quite sure what his intentions were when he lifted her chin, but she let him anyway. Though Inri was utterly baffled when she felt his lips on hers. The warmth she felt only multiplied with this. Comfort, confusion, and even love hit her all at once. Her lips ached when they parted.
It all seemed difficult for her to register. She took a moment to take it all in, looking down at her feet for a bit and then bringing her gaze back up to Richard. He was blushing from having kissed her, it was easy to see in his expression that he seemed to regret it. But before she could think it over, Inri reinitiated the kiss with great gratification.

Richard was speechless when their mouths separated for the second time. He swore when she kissed him that the whole table of Hufflepuffs near by wolf howled at them and that the Slytherins hissed at them. Could it be that they found out that he was a muggle born? He wouldn’t tell her that he was, not yet anyways, as he had no idea what she would do if she found out that she had just been kissed by a muggle born and returned a kiss to one. There was almost no doubt in his mind that she would hate him if he did tell her.
He released Inri after their lips parted and peered around the corner of the bookshelf to see the librarian and Isabella coming towards them. Apparently mufliato had worn off. “Shoot!”He then went back to Inri and in a hush voice he said. “Hurry up say something. Your stalker and mame Prince are coming…. And I think my spell on the auror has worn off.” He heard the librarian telling off the Hufflepuffs for their excessive noise in the library and he also heard foot steps getting steadily closer. He nervously ran his hand through his hair.
The footsteps were almost directly upon them now. His brain moved rapidly trying to come up with what to do. He didn’t want to seem like he had just done something illegal when he didn’t. Yet he also didn’t want Isabella to find out what had just gone on between the two of them. His eyes scanned the bookshelves trying to at least look busy and as if nothing had happened between them. Why was it that these sort of things always looked easy on the silver screens when it was never easy in real life even for a wizard?
